N-acetylcysteine (NAC), a sulfur-containing amino acid, is the precursor of the amino acids L-cysteine and glutathione. Animal and human studies of NAC show it to have powerful antioxidant activity. As a sulfur source, NAC stimulates glutathione (an important antioxidant produced in the body) synthesis and activity, and is a powerful molecule capable of scavenging free radicals. Research suggests NAC is capable of enhancing immunity. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, NAC was shown to positively impact lymphocyte cell numbers. NAC helps maintain good pulmonary health by reducing the viscosity of the mucous, thereby assisting chronic bronchitis, asthma, sinusitis and pneumonia. N-acetylcysteine is also used for liver disease, reducing toxicity of certain medications and enhancing liver function, offers protection from herbicides and environmental pollutants, xenoestrogens and supports heavy metal detoxification, and enhances immune support. NAC is also of benefit for prevention of heart disease, through the lowering of lipoproteins. For clinic customer renewals only.

Indole 3 Carbinol
Indole-3-Carbinol used to support estrogen metabolism, maintains optimal 2-hydroxy/16-hydroxy estrogen ratios, found in cabbage family vegetables, it's a source of DIM offering nutritional support for liver detoxification and made without flowing agents that can inhibit bioavailability. I3C provides key nutritional support for liver detoxification and plays an important role in supporting female reproductive health - particularly related to an estrogen imbalance including breast, endometrial and cervical health. The majority of ingested I3C is absorbed in the small intestine as diindolylmethane (DIM), which is thought to be the primary contributor to I3C's beneficial properties. DIM has been shown to selectively bind to estrogen receptors and may act as an estrogen antagonist at physiological concentration. In the liver, I3C promotes the metabolism of estrogen and increases the ratio of 2-hydroxy estrogen to 16-hydroxy estrogen.* The 2-hydroxy estrogens, less active than the 16-hydroxy estrogens, generally are eliminated more rapidly from the body. One prospective study found postmenopausal women with the most favorable urinary 2:16-hydroxyestrone ratio were most likely to maintain good female health. Used with calcium d glucarate and Crucera SGS.
