Active Green Tea
Formerly called EGCG MAX, the new name is Actice Green Tea - a high-potency standardized extract of green tea, soucred from the leaves of the Camelia sinensis plant, high in epigallocatechin gallate (EgCG), believed to be the key phytonutrient in green tea, responsible for its health benefits. EGCG MAX allows you to more fully enjoy the healthy properties of a sencha-rich lifestyle without consuming large volumes of tea. Green tea’s polyphenols have been well studied for their proven benefits for cardiovascular health. Green tea intake is shown to decrease levels of LDL cholesterol, the cholesterol responsible for cholesterol plaques and the storage of fat, and triglycerides. Green tea also increases levels of HDL cholesterol (healthy cholesterol). HDL cholesterol also protects against plaque formation, improves blood circulation and decreases inflammation in vessels. Thus green tea can be used to prevent stroke and heart attack. The polyphenols are also antioxidants, protecting cells from oxidative damage. Free radicals are unstable molecules that in their bid to become more stable must bump into healthy cells and cause damage. Research in experimental animals has found green tea or its extracts to be effective against chemically-induced cancers of the lung, breast, colon, liver, and skin, as well as a variety of gastrointestinal organs, cancers induced by chemical carcinogens; more excitingly, green tea extracts have been found to protect animals from existing, spontaneous prostate cancer. The polyphenols and caffeine found in green tea help to raise the body temperature and increase the body's thermogenic or fat-burning activity.

L Glutamine
L-glutamine (commonly referred to as glutamine) is the most prevalent amino acid in the bloodstream. It is found in high concentration in skeletal muscle and lung, liver, brain, and gastrointestinal tissues. Skeletal muscle contains the greatest intracellular concentration of glutamine, comprising up to 60 percent of total body glutamine stores, and muscle is the primary storage depot and exporter of glutamine to other tissues. However, the gastrointestinal tract is the greatest user of glutamine in the body because glutamine provides the primary fuel for the nutrient-absorbing cells that line the walls of the small intestine. Various stressors – such as trauma, infection, malnutrition, chemotherapy, and others – can impact the normal function of the enterocytes of the small intestine by adversely affecting how substances are absorbed. For example, when gut permeability is impaired it can allow large protein molecules to diffuse across the intestine – that would otherwise not – and enter the bloodstream (resulting in a condition called leaky gut syndrome). The body can identify these large protein molecules as foreign and mount an immune reaction against them, which can result in the development of food allergies. In numerous animal studies, in which hyper-permeability of the intestine is experimentally induced, the addition of glutamine improved permeability function as well as the gut's immune function. Under certain circumstances the body's tissues need more glutamine than the amount supplied by diet and internal production. In times of metabolic stress, glutamine is released from the muscles into the bloodstream, where it is transported to the tissues in need but concentration in the skeletal muscles can be affected by various insults, including injury, infection, prolonged stress, malnutrition, and the use of glucocorticoids. In addition, glutamine may provide support of wound healing, immune health, and nutrient support of individuals undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. L Glutamine promotes immune system health, supports a healthy nervous system and is an essential nutrient for wound healing. Glutamine serves as a regulator of acid-base balance and a building block of neurotransmitters in the brain. L-glutamine has several benefits. It can reduce the severity and duration of mouth pain/mucositis caused by chemotherapy, can support the gastro-intestinal tract during chemotherapy, reduce the duration of chemotherapy-induced diarrhea and it can reduce peripheral neuropathy, numbness, pain, tingling. For clinic customer renewals only.

Narcissus Peony White Tea
White Narcissus Peony, also known as Pai Mu Tan (Pai means "white" and Mu Tan "peony")-a high quality, elegant White Tea. Produced in China's Fujian province during early spring, by carefully selecting only the finest tender buds of the white tea plant. This results in a unique nutty, bamboo fragrance and a sweet, savory taste. The least processed of all teas, the white tea characteristic is the closest flavor to fresh, pure tea leaves. The leaves undergo two steps during processing. First, the leaves are withered and then immediately baked in the sun. Like black and green teas, white tea contains numerous antioxidant compounds called polyphenols (flavonoids and catechins specifically). Catechins provide protective antioxidant action against harmful free radicals in the body.Research shows that these free radicals are involved in heart disease, some kinds of cancer and increase the risk of strokes. Due to its high antioxidant components, drinking white tea help to protect against cardiovascular disease, supports immune system function, helps to lower cholesterol, promotes strength and integrity of blood vessels and helps to promote healthy teeth and bones. In addition, white tea provides a source of nutrients including magnesium, managanese, potassium, calcium, and the vitamins C and K all in trace amounts. White teas contain the least amount of caffeine of all teas, generally ranging in the cup from 5-15 milligrams. In the evening, sip white teas before or after a light meal or enjoy on its own to savor its subtle taste. To truly appreciate the delicate flavor avoid drinking with strong flavors or spicy foods and makes an excellent drink for those seeking the health benefits of Green Tea, but who prefer a more subtle flavor and aroma.
