Bacillus coagulans
Bacillus coagulans (formerly Lactobacillus Sporogenes) is a unique, stable probiotic organism that promotes gastrointestinal health and promotes a healthy gut flora. The human intestinal tract contains trillions of bacteria that, in a healthy person, coexist in a beneficial, symbiotic relationship. Healthy bacteria help digest food, produce vitamins, regulate the metabolism, and control a normal immune response. Probiotic bacteria promote a healthy intestinal environment by producing lactic acid and by secreting fatty acids that are helpful to the growth of other beneficial microorganisms. Bacillus coagulans is a lactic acid-producing bacteria that represents a breakthrough in probiotic supplementation. This beneficial bacteria is dormant in the bottle, then reverts to a growing bacteria in the intestines. Because of this, it resists being killed by stomach acid; in contrast, many Lactobacillus probiotics lose most or all of their potency before use and do not survive their trip through the stomach. No refrigeration or special handling is required for this stable, healthy bacteria which can survive stomach acidity. People take Bacillus coagulans for diarrhea, including infectious types such as rotaviral diarrhea in children; traveler's diarrhea; and diarrhea caused by antibiotics. Bacillus coagulans is also used for general digestion problems, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis), a bowel disorder called Clostridium difficilecolitis, excessive growth of “bad” bacteria in short bowel syndrome, and infection due to the ulcer-causing bacterium Helicobacter pylori.

Folic Acid Tablets
The B vitamin folacin, or folic acid, works closely with vitamin B12 to produce red blood cells. Folic acid is vital to proper cell division and prevents damage to cellular DNA, helping to reduce the risk of colon polyps, colorectal cancer and cervical cancer. Many studies show that folic acid also prevents birth defects. Women planning to have children should supplement with 400 micrograms of folic acid daily to prevent neural tube defects such as spina bifida and anencephaly. This amount may also lower homocysteine levels in the blood as high levels of homocysteine are associated with increased risk of heart attack and stroke. "Folic acid is necessary for proper brain function, being concentrated in the spinal and extracellular fluids. It is essential for mental and emotional health...In surveys conducted, it was shown to be one of the nutrients most often deficient in our diets." Folic acid in supplement form is twice as available to the body as the folate found in foods. The vitamin has a low toxicity. A one-thousand-fold increase in the daily requirement may be consumed with no harmful effects. Daily doses of 15 mg are non-toxic. If excess is ingested, the extra is excreted in the urine. Birth control pills increase the body's demand for folic acid and may result in folic acid deficiency. Phenytoin (Dilantin) competes with folic acid for absorption. Prevents birth defects in unborn children. Necessary for proper brain and nervous system function. Helps lower homocysteine levels in the blood. Reduces the risk of colon polyps. Aids in the production of healthy red blood cells.

L Glutamine
L-glutamine (commonly referred to as glutamine) is the most prevalent amino acid in the bloodstream. It is found in high concentration in skeletal muscle and lung, liver, brain, and gastrointestinal tissues. Skeletal muscle contains the greatest intracellular concentration of glutamine, comprising up to 60 percent of total body glutamine stores, and muscle is the primary storage depot and exporter of glutamine to other tissues. However, the gastrointestinal tract is the greatest user of glutamine in the body because glutamine provides the primary fuel for the nutrient-absorbing cells that line the walls of the small intestine. Various stressors – such as trauma, infection, malnutrition, chemotherapy, and others – can impact the normal function of the enterocytes of the small intestine by adversely affecting how substances are absorbed. For example, when gut permeability is impaired it can allow large protein molecules to diffuse across the intestine – that would otherwise not – and enter the bloodstream (resulting in a condition called leaky gut syndrome). The body can identify these large protein molecules as foreign and mount an immune reaction against them, which can result in the development of food allergies. In numerous animal studies, in which hyper-permeability of the intestine is experimentally induced, the addition of glutamine improved permeability function as well as the gut's immune function. Under certain circumstances the body's tissues need more glutamine than the amount supplied by diet and internal production. In times of metabolic stress, glutamine is released from the muscles into the bloodstream, where it is transported to the tissues in need but concentration in the skeletal muscles can be affected by various insults, including injury, infection, prolonged stress, malnutrition, and the use of glucocorticoids. In addition, glutamine may provide support of wound healing, immune health, and nutrient support of individuals undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. L Glutamine promotes immune system health, supports a healthy nervous system and is an essential nutrient for wound healing. Glutamine serves as a regulator of acid-base balance and a building block of neurotransmitters in the brain. L-glutamine has several benefits. It can reduce the severity and duration of mouth pain/mucositis caused by chemotherapy, can support the gastro-intestinal tract during chemotherapy, reduce the duration of chemotherapy-induced diarrhea and it can reduce peripheral neuropathy, numbness, pain, tingling.
