B Complex
The B complex vitamins are co-enzymes involved in energy production, they assist in maintaining healthy nerves, skin, vision and healthy hair; as well as enhancing brain functions and promoting endurance and stamina. The B vitamins are an important supplement for anyone encountering mental or physical stress due to overwork and assist in memory and brain function. A vitamin B complex is a useful addition to anyone encountering a hormone imbalance, PMS or menopausal symptoms. The B vitamins are essential for liver function and hormone metabolism in the liver. B vitamins are most effective when taken together as a whole complex and are water soluble, meaning that there is no concern of cumulative side effects, (what the body does not need will be voided out), however when the body is under stress the B vitamins are often depleted, thus supplementation is important through times of elevated stress. Caffeine and certain medications, such as oral contraceptives and cardiovascular drugs, (diuretics, ACE inhibitors, beta-blockers and cholesterol lowering drugs) deplete the body of all B vitamins, creating a deficit state. Bio Med's High Potency B Compound contains 50 mg of the B's, insuring optimal levels for better overall health - in an easy-to-swallow capsule form.

Kudzu Root
The Kudzu (or Kuzu) plant is a climbing, woody vine which belongs to the pea family (or the legume family). For more than 2000 years in Chinese medicine, kudzu root has been used as herbal medicine for the treatment of headaches, diarrhea, dysentery, intestinal obstruction, stomach flu, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases; it is used as a digestive aid, fever reducer, and is thought to inhibit alcohol cravings and lower blood sugar. In traditional Chinese medicine, where it is known as gat-gun, ge gan, kudzu is considered one of the 50 fundamental herbs. TCM uses kudzu in treating the symptoms of high blood pressure such as headache and dizziness (although kudzu has little or no effect on blood pressure itself). It is used for tinnitus, vertigo and Wei syndrome (superficial heat close to the surface). It has shown value for helping migraines and cluster headaches and can increase circulation, an action that tends to reduce muscle pain and stiffness, and increases blood flow through the coronary arteries. Studies have shown that Kudzu can reduce alcohol cravings. For problem drinking: In clinical studies, Kudzu has shown some promising results in reducing the desire for alcohol and decrease the amount of alcohol consumed. A person who takes Kudzu, will still drink alcohol, but will consume less than if they had not taken Kudzu. The mechanism for this is not yet established, but it may have to do with both alcohol metabolism and the reward circuits in the brain. While Kudzu Root seems to lessen the desire for alcohol, it also stimulates regeneration of liver tissue while protecting against liver toxins. Kudzu is also taken internally on a regular basis to prevent recurrences of colds sores, shingles, and herpes. Used as a tea for reducing an elevated fever, muscle aches, and symptoms of a cold or flu and can sooth inflamed mucous membranes of the throat and bronchial passages. Animal and cellular studies have provided support for the traditional uses of kudzu root on cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and endocrine systems, including angina pectoris, diabetes and their long term complications.

L Lysine
L-lysine, is an essential amino acid, that cannot be synthesized in the body therefore we need to ingest through our food or through supplementation. Vegetarians can be deficient in lysine because, while meat, poultry, and milk are rich sources of lysine, and proteins in grains and cereals are typically low in lysine. Of the many body functions requiring lysine, some applications include synthesis of connective tissues such as bone, skin, collagen, and elastin; synthesis of carnitine and the resultant conversion of fatty acids to energy; support for healthy growth and development in children; and maintenance of a healthy immune function and the potential to ward off cold sores. An amino acid essential for skin health, energy production, and immune function. Research supports L-Lysine's ability to impede the utilization of L-arginine by some lipid-coated viruses during key phases in their life cycle, which helps to reduce the recurrence, severity and healing time of cold sores, shingles and genital herpes. L-Lysine has also been used for the treatment of canker sores. Taking L-lysine supplements can speed recovery time and reduce the chance of recurrent breakouts of the herpes infection. L-lysine helps improve the absorption of calcium from the digestive tract and prevent loss of calcium in the urine. In so doing, some researchers speculate that L-lysine may help prevent bone loss associated with osteoporosis. It is required for growth and bone development in children, assists in calcium absorption and maintaining the correct nitrogen balance in the body and maintaining lean body mass. Furthermore it is needed to produce antibodies, hormones, enzymes, collagen formation as well as repair of body tissues. Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding. For clinic customer renewals only.

Rhodiola
Rhodiola rosea, known as the “Arctic Root”, Rhodiola rosea is a popular plant in traditional medical systems in both Eastern Europe and Asia with a reputation for stimulating the nervous system, decreasing depression, enhancing work performance, eliminating fatigue, and preventing high altitude sickness. Rhodiola rosea has been categorized as an adaptogen by Russian researchers assisting the body in adaptation and increases resistance to a variety of chemical, biological, and physical stressors, including excessive heat, high altitude, heavy metal exposure and extensive exercise. Rhodiola provides antidepressant, anticancer, cardioprotective, and central nervous system enhancement. Individuals experiencing a decline in work performance, sleep difficulties, poor appetite, irritability, hypertension, headaches, and fatigue; conditions developing as a result of intense physical or intellectual strain may find benefit in supplementing with rhodiola. The adaptogenic, cardiopulmonary protective, and central nervous system activities of Rhodiola rosea have been attributed primarily to its ability to influence levels and activity of monoamines and opioid peptides such as beta-endorphins. Rhodiola has the ability to assist in the bodies utilization of the glycogen energy reserves efficiently and its key component salidroside, prevents excessive blood sugar levels, A brain adaptogen used to help cope with stress, Rhodiola enhances mood, sleep, and mental focus, can help improve exercise performance, supports normal levels of neurotransmitters - serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine.
